Marcy Tieger
Marcy began her professional career as an insurance claim representative. While working in insurance, she attended law school, graduating in 1987. She became a member of the State Bar of California that same year. Marcy was founding partner of Tieger and Bumiller, a boutique law firm focused on insurance matters. She later merged her business with the firm Berger Kahn, where she specialized in insurance, labor and employment, and business law. She also served as an adjunct professor at Western State University, College of Law.
A frequent speaker, Marcy has provided training and presented to the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE), the Women’s Industry Network (WIN), AkzoNobel, Sherwin Williams, CARSTAR Canada, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Mitchell International and Farmers Insurance, among others.
Marcy has contributed articles to the Los Angeles Daily Journal, the San Francisco Daily Journal, the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Claims Magazine, California Lawyer and Verdict Magazine, Collision Week, Autobody Repair News (ABRN), Auto Inc., Fender Bender, Body Shop Business, and Hammer and Dolly, on a variety of topics including, strategic planning in a dynamic marketplace, the attributes of successful leaders, business ethics and workplace diversity. Marcy currently serves as the Chair of the board of Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. She is also a founding board member of the Women’s Industry Network (WIN) and has served as a trustee of the Collision Industry Foundation, I-CAR and a member of the State Farm Insurance Advisory Board. She is a recipient of the Akzo Nobel, Most Influential Woman Award and the WIN Cornerstone Award.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Juris Doctor from Western State University, College of Law. She is also a member of the California Bar and a DRPA Certificated Mediator.
